Day first. Prologue.

A nice start at the main square of the country. A farewell addressed by Popov, Chervonenko, Safullin and other parties involved. Yearning after adventure and victory. All of this happened today at the Nezalezhnosti square where a race of the second round of the Trophy Raids Championship of Ukraine started grandly. Even the weather was friendly. The competitors and Jango and SKAY, the artists, were blessed with a bright sun. As they say, there was no sign of a threat.

The main events occurred at a mototrack in Pyrohovo where a qualification round was held. And then a pouring rain happened making a medium category route an advanced one.

The following three artificial barriers spiced the competition – trenches two of which were filled with water. The competitors have already been seriously tested in the first round. Riders of quad bikes were the least successful. Despite a 4 wheel drive and special training for such races, they literally went down the ditch. At first, the water level did not exceed 70 cm, however the pouring rain that stopped just for a few seconds has done its work. Fellow competitors had to deal with a whole meter water level.

Mutual support of racers makes the race especially appealing. We heard a lot about solidarity of such competitors. We have seen with our own eye that it was not just a legend made up by losers to cover for their loss. The racers dishorsed and jumped into the ditch filled with water to help their rivals to get out thinking nothing of it. In return to such kindness, the lucky sportsman did not sprint for the finish like a racing deer but took time to tow his colleague and release him from the water trap.

With the first competitors having difficulties with overcoming this tricky section, the rest of racers talked nervously waiting for their turn. Mykola Katerynchuk, the People’s Deputy, competing in the quad bike class riding his Kawasaki 750 could not take the stress and lit a cigarette in order to come down a bit. Yevhen Chervonenko did his best to cheer the fellow motor sport fan.

According to Halabi El Rafik, a competitor from Lebanon, all  are swamped. And it’s true. No one is judged by its rank or title. All competitors are united by the spirit of a fight, excitement and passion for the cars.

The audience stood on a hill and watched the fight from the above as long as the rain allowed for it. Male fans nearly jumped out of their cars into the rain in critical moments to see those who finished closely.

All overcoming the dirty obstacle zone could tidy up and tidy their cars using a mobile car wash. Those who could not wait tried to stand under a fire hose. A smile was written on the faces of experienced sportsmen even after the exhausting race. It was obvious that the prologue is just the beginning. A five-day route to Shatsk is the main competition.

We are going to monitor closely the competition along the route. Our press-centre is driving Volkswagen Amarok 4 wheel car along the route. There are three crews competing on such cars even though they are mass produced. We are quite sorry that we can not fully compete in the trophy.
